| File Managers: | XTree Gold, Out of date DOS software, was purcahsed by Symantec
& dropped,
the shareware version is weak & the compercial version will not handle long file names, it will run most of the time when a computer is not stable when Ztree locks up & works with DOS Interlnk & Intersvr & ZTree to this day will not as far as I know. Ztree For Windows, also a OS/2 version, the predesesor of ZTree,
same author.

on the current name...) Real Cool!!!
This is one neat program!!! You see my picture I call The_Corridor It is one of the programs I used to create the skin for the walls, I never did write to the author but I think he would get a kick out of it since it has been applied with another program, his site has so much graphics on it I just did not have the time for it all with a plain old 56k modem, I also did this pruple background with it. Gif Movie Gear, they did a nice job on this program, it will let you make a animated Gif or Icon or convert one to the other, this is a easy to use program! Bryce 3D, this is a real cool program, this is the first program I ever did figure out how to do 3D Animated Graphics, it will import Lightwave, Autocad & a lot of other formats, it will let you create movies that can be ran in QuickTime .MOV format & other formats, if you have a 3D file there are a few programs out there to convert the files to where Bryce can handle it, I did some stuff I thought was neat till I seen what someone that knows how to the program, one of the most impressive I seen is a sail boat on a rough ocean, Someone ask I will upload one of mine, Corle kind of killed it off when they bought it. 3D Studio is a another program I did try out a few versions back,
I did get the new trial but my 80 Gig died so I never got a chance to try
it but I sure want to try it out VERY MUCH!

| Programming: | Quick Basic, a DOS program compiler, this will compile QBasic
programs to .exe files, yes, DOS can handle long file names, trust me I
did it!
Visual Basic, this is a Windows programming language, it is a lot like QBasic but not the same language, some work has to be done to convert DOS language to Windows language, no known conversion program for converting over. Visual Basic for Dos is a little different & can run some QBasic programs but I think it is older than Microsoft Quick Basic. MDASM (I am no assembly language programmer but I got a kick out of it, I will get back on it some day...) 3D Exploration, a C script or language capable game programming language as I recall, looks like GLTron was created with it, as I recall I took a look at it & would do more than the original Doom by a long shot |

| File Compression (Archives): | Aladdin Expander, this is a shareware program for Windows
that will let you into those Macintosh .SIT files, handles a lot of other
formats besides that.
PKZIP25 (not the same as pkzip) This is from WWW.PKWARE.COM & will do all the stuff like pkunzip & pkzip but has better file compression, a little change in the command line but everything runs from on program unlike PKWARE. WinAce, handles WinAce (.ACE) archives & much more. WinRAR, Handles .RAR, .ZIP & a lot more, I like it more than WinZip, it seems to know where to place the files better that WinZip, I was able to run it on a friends computer the first time I seen it to create a archive & he did not even know how to use it, it will handle .CAB files & a lot more, if you can run WinZip you can run WinRAR. WinZip, this is pretty much the classic as for they way some folks think, in a way it is, it made it easier for folks with less computer knowledge to be able to handle .ZIP files due to how Windows will learn how to handle a file by file extensions, file extentiotions are like .TXT .DOC .ZIP... The good old .ZIP is the results of the late Bill Katz & is the MOST widely used file compression used on the web to this day! |

program, not only will it download the entinre site if you want it to but
it will even keep the directory structure intact so all the files are in
the same directories as on the web site, it also consumes far less of the
computers resources than Anawave WebSnake!
